How I Train

 

 

Okay…. So I know you noticed that I said up above that I train in a very specific way using resistance bands.  So let’s break that down a bit.

 

So I truly believe that exercising/working out isn’t just about losing weight or building muscle!  Of course these are important things but it’s Important to do it in a way that’s functional and sustainable for daily life.  It’s important to train in a way that lowers the potential of injury so you can continue to show up for yourself daily cause we all know, success is based on being able to be consistent and when we get injured, it can throw a big wrench into the game. 

 

So when we’re working out it’s important to use tools that supports everything I just mentioned.  And Resistance Bands do just that!!!

 

Bands are incredibly joint friendly - they allow us to load the muscles effectively without the heavy impact from weights that can wear down our joints over time.  And the body’s muscles can’t tell the difference between a dumbbell and a resistance band!  Resistance is Resistance!  Bands stimulate muscle growth just as effectively, if not more so, by matching the body’s natural force curve - providing maximum resistance where we’re the strongest and easing off where we’re more vulnerable.  

 

And Unlike traditional weights, which limit us to a vertical plane due to gravity, or cable machines, which restrict us to a horizontal plane, bands let us move in all directions. This flexibility means we can work through the body’s full range of motion, creating the perfect conditions for muscle growth that translates into functional strength.

 

And plus bands are versatile. They’re scalable from 5 pounds to over 600 pounds, making them a tool for everyone—from those just starting to seasoned lifters pushing their limits.

 

Oh and did I mention how portable they are?  You can literally workout anywhere!!! So you can’t use those excuses of not being able to workout because you couldn’t get to the gym anymore!!!

  • Is this only for men and women over 40?  Nope!  While majority of my clients are 40+, I'm able to help anyone who doesn't want to end up in their 40's dealing with the same patterns that we discussed here.
  • Do I have to workout?  Nope!  A lot of my clients start with nutrition only and we focus on steps.  Remember, this is tailored to YOU! 
  • Do I have to use Resistance Bands? No you can use free weights if that's what you want to do, but I can assure you that you're only asking this question because you've never experienced a proper band workout.  Once you do, I'm sure you'll be hooked like the majority of my clients!

 

  • Do I get a meal plan? Nope! Meal plans teach you ONE thing and one thing only..... and that's how to follow a meal plan.  Eventually, you get tired of that and end up falling off "Plan".  I'll teach you HOW TO EAT so you'll reach your goals while still having the freedom to eat what you want.
  • Do I have to track my food?  Well, that really depends.  Food awareness is the first step and usually in order to know what you're eating, I do recommend tracking so you're aware of your calorie intake before we start to transition to a more intuitive eating approach.
  • Do I have to buy supplements?  Nope! While supplementation can help you reach your goals and I may recommend using some, but it will be just that, recommendations.
